I haven’t played guitar in about 5 years since my ex pawned off all my instruments. But last week, I bought a new one 😌 and to celebrate (and try to overcome my performance anxiety), I thought it would be funny to do acoustic covers of songs that don’t really belong as acoustic lol. I’m still an emo kid at heart 😔🤙#evanescence #savvyart

Even shattered pieces can hold beauty. Like broken stained glass, we may be fragmented, but the light still finds its way through. Behind every crack, there’s a landscape of hope. This painting and poem represent new beginnings after the end of a relationship. “Through the Shattered Stained Glass” will be part of the Fine Arts Center Alumni digital show! So be on the lookout for it :) @fac_greenville @fac_visualarts #art #savvyart #gvlarts #gvlartist #painting #poetry

‘Echoes Through the Cosmos’—a journey through the infinite expanse of longing. 🌌✨ Lost love, like a distant star, forever shines in the vastness of space, guiding me through the void. Every pulse, every orbit, a reminder that some connections stretch across galaxies, unyielding, even in absence. This painting and poem capture the surreal pursuit of a love that lingers beyond time and space. 💫 #art #savvyart #painting #poetry #acrylicpainting

I added some finishing touches to this painting a couple weeks ago.
Lately, I’ve been writing poems to go along with each of my paintings. I’ve found it to be super cathartic, but also that it adds another layer of meaning to my artwork. A few days ago, I got an IUD placement, which was probably the worst pain I’ve ever experienced, and I wasn’t given any pain management for it. It made me think about how women are expected to deal with pain, with no accommodations. I’ve been dealing with intense pain in the days since getting it. I started this painting last year with the intention of it being about the Sisyphean endeavor women deal with of trying to measure up to societal expectations and gender roles. The pain I’ve been dealing with felt connected to this endeavor, so I wrote the poem both about my experience and about my disdain for these expectations placed upon women. #painting #art #savvyart #poem #poetry

I’m honored to be partnering with the nonprofit, Walt’s Waltz for the upcoming CreateAthon at USC. They’re using my two paintings, “The Mortality of Control” and “The Division of Black and White Thinking” for their postcards about mental health stigma. These paintings are from my series, Threadbare: An Exploration of Mental Illness and depict my personal experiences and struggles with my own mental health. Thanks @walts.waltz and @susan.crooks.750!!! #art #savvyart #waltswaltz #mentalhealth #paintings #usc #createathon

The reception for Found Family at Furman University was changed to November 15th due to Hurricane Helene. Please save the date and join me for the closing reception ☺️❤️ #art #queerart #savvyart

This watercolor painting reflects my misery surrounding Hurricane Helene. 10 days without power, still without internet. Lots of suffering ❤️ I started this last night when I was feeling angsty. When I feel angsty, my art style shifts to that of my middle school days lmao. Painting in my watercolor sketchbook is keeping me alive! You can swipe for some work in progress pics. #art #savvyart #hurricanehelene #watercolor #painting
